The site navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows move across top level links and expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will open main level menus and toggle through sub tier links. Enter and space open menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Become a Referee

North Texas Soccer Member Associations and clubs are encouraged to contact North Texas State Soccer Kiersten Cowart at referees@ntxsoccer.org about organizing and hosting referee courses.

2025 Referee Registration will open around July 1, 2024

A 2025 license will allow a new referee to work the remainder of 2024 and all of 2025.

The BEST in-person clinic to attend will be July 20, 2024, in Frisco, TX. We will have space available for the first 180 people to become referees on this date.

Whistlemania 2 – this is an annual event. Over 700 referees attend this event. We offer entry level clinics for those becoming referees (up to 180) as well as training for current referees.
Your $100 fee includes these incredible benefits:
  1. You will receive a full referee kit. A $70 value (referee uniform – shirt, shorts, socks, flags, cards, coin, data wallet & black referee bag)
  2. You will receive a North Texas Referee “merch” bag, this includes a black dry-fit shirt to wear under your uniform ($55 value)
  3. You receive your 2025 USSF Referee badge and can take part in the group photo of 700+ referees
You get all of this for the price of $100. A regular entry level clinic cost - $80.
If you are in town on July 20 – make plans to attend this event. You do have to get all your online work done ahead of time to attend.

In-Person Entry level clinics AFTER Whistlemania – we will offer approximately 45 IN-PERSON clinics between July 27 – Oct 31. These in-person clinics are awesome too. They are offered all over the DFW metro-plex and many outlying areas (Midland, Tyler, Longview, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Waco, Mabank, Corsicana, and others).
***Please note, uniform kits and merch bags are NOT included in any other clinic, other than the Whistlemania event.

To start the process of becoming a referee, please check back on July 1.
